FREDFEST!

So Thursday brought with it lots of fun!!

I was having a small issue with my phone so I decided to brave the T-Mobile store with Emily and Austin in tow and try to get some help.  The kids were great while I was there and I (hopefully) got my problem solved.  I don’t know for sure yet since the man said that it could take up to 72 hours for the change to register…

After the store I took Austin to Noodles for lunch as a reward for doing so well.  I also happened to have a coupon for a free meal for myself for my birthday!  We had a great lunch and then we were off.

We made our way to the school that Evan works at to visit.  We got to sit with him and hang out for a while and then it was time…

We walked downstairs to the auditorium and it was there we were able to watch Evan play with the Jazz band!!

See, Thursday was “FREDFEST” at Fred Moore Middle School where Evan works.  It is like a big pep-fest for the kids to bring their parents to and show off their artwork and accomplishments.  It is also a chance for all the students and parents to enjoy the different musical performances.  Evan happened to be helping out in the Jazz band.

I really enjoyed watching him play.  I didn’t get to see any of his performances through high school or college and I know that he really misses it dearly.  I could see how much fun he was having up there.  I bet you all will be able to see it too!!

Yesterday was a blur and today we’ve just been hanging out.  Emily has started to grasp a few small toys and she is really focusing on them.  It is so fun to watch how much she learns every day!!

Look at those eyes!!

*Funny side note on the shirt Austin is wearing.  Evan ran to the store today and we knew that Austin was in need of some new undershirts, A-shirts to be exact.  Before he left, we asked Austin to go down to his bedroom to get one of his current A-shirts so we could see what size it was.  When Austin returned, he had the shirt above.  We said “No, we wanted you to get an A-shirt, you know one of your undershirts without sleeves” to which Austin replied “But this shirt has an ‘A’!”  Too cute!
